Take Quitting off the Table

I have spent the last 15 years working in the fitness industry.  For most of that time I have been dedicated to making people better at something… a sport, a fitness competition, life, but always improving something.  

Now I will be honest and say that a lot of the people that I have worked with did not achieve their goal.  They never got to have the satisfaction of completing what they set out to. I will also tell you that a lot of them did.  I have coached people to first place finishes in a variety of sports, competitions, and even just looking better naked.  Do you know what separated the people that got there from the people that didn’t?  Quitting.

Quitting is really the only way to guarantee that you will not reach your goal.  Out of all the people I have coached that have accomplished their goal none of them had a smooth easy ride to the top.  The whole process had good days, bad days, failures, and at times went backwards.  But they decided when they started that quitting was not even a option.  They took quitting off the table, and once you do that, the only thing left is to succeed.  No matter how hard it gets, how long it takes, or how many set backs you have, if you keep moving forward you will get there.
